“Life is full of choices, Loving you isn’t one of them – I have no control over that.” – Unknown
I am honored that MJ & Shaneen chose me to photograph their love and their beautiful wedding day! The wedding was a beautiful ceremony by the side of the North Sasketchwan River. The happy couple tied a knot with all of their friends and family surrounding them. Their vows were full of heart-felt stories that made everyone cry! MJ actually sang a song as part of her vows (“I wanna grow old with you” by Adam Sandler”). And last but not least, Theodore, the couple’s adorable dog joined us as the ring-bearer for the ceremony!
The Same-Day Slideshow
Above is the beautiful Same-Day Slideshow that was created during the couple’s reception and shown to them during the wedding.
It was amazing to work with MJ & Shaneen on their wedding day and we are honored to have been a part of their story! You can check out the rest of our work on our blog.

The Engagement Slideshow
Above is the Engagement Slideshow that I created for the Stephanie & Andrew from their engagement photos.
The Engagement Ring and How They Met
There is something to be said for young love. That is why we write about it, sing about it, and cry over movies about it. Stephanie and Andrew met in 10th grade by adjacent lockers. Andrew took his girl to high school grad by asking her out with a scavenger hunt! How adventurous and fun (one more thing about that young love eh). She said yes to the dance and years later, Andrew asked Stephanie’s parents for their blessing. Stephanie had no clue when Andrew picked her up from work. He took her to Whitemud Park and played “Say Something” by A Great Big World. Listening to the story made our heart skip a beat. This was the song they danced to at their High School grad. While the song played, Andrew proposed to Stephanie on a bridge. Stephanie cried, Andrew cried and so did I.
They can eat a ton of Cake of a Thousand Layers and Halo Halo shaved ice.
They both love Brooklyn 99.
They are basically goals and I ship them hard.
The Engagement Session at the George F. Hustler Memorial Plaza
Did you know that there are over 200 different varieties of cherry blossoms? Just like love, there are so many kinds, yet all precious and beautiful. Everybody needs to see them up close at least once in their lifetime. Stephanie and Andrew are the lucky ones to have found love just as beautiful as the pretty blooms.
The engagement session took place at George F. Hustler Memorial Plaza near Muttart Conservatory. It was cherry blossom season and the grounds were a gorgeous canopy of pinks and greens. The sun shone bright and so did these two!
Cherry blossoms last only a week so there was a big crowd (I’d go again, it was picturesque!), we got some beautiful photos and these two gave us all the goals to aspire to!
It was amazing to work with Stephanie & Andrew for their engagement photos and I am honored to have been a part of their story! You can check out the rest of my work on my blog.

Nicole & Brodie’s wedding was the perfect fall wedding once could have asked for. It was filled with golden colors and glorious autumn light. Leading up to their wedding, the Edmonton weather had been horrible. It was filled with rains and unpleasantly cold temperatures. Lo and behold, the wedding day arrives and the sky is miraculously clear and we get pleasantly warm weather. It was a perfect day to get married!
Their Story!
Brodie Getting Ready and Playing Settlers!
We started the Mayotte’s wedding day at the couple’s house where Brodie was getting ready. His groomsmen had joined him for the preparations and they all looked very dapper even before they put on their wedding attire. We photographed some of the details including the cufflinks, the Steve Madden shoes, the rings and his classy white tie. At one point, the groom and groomsmen got into a game of settlers and I made sure we got some goofy photos of that! We finished this part of the day with some classic posed black and white photos of the groom and his groomsmen!
Nicole & Her Cool Group of Bridesmaids
This section started with us photographing a gorgeous bottle of champagne that the bride and her bridesmaids were enjoying when we got to their location. Following that, we photographed the details including Nicole’s beautiful wedding dress, the jewelry she wore, her shoes and her beautiful teal scarf. The ladies also wore matching bridesmaids gowns that looked fantastic together! We finally took some photos as Nicole put on her dress and got ready for the ceremony!
Their Ceremony at The Country Lodge, Edmonton
The country lodge is such an amazing venue. It is this tiny little cabin on the north side of Edmonton that has gorgeous grounds all around it. I have had the pleasure of photographing multiple weddings there and each one turned out amazing! Nicole and Brodie’s ceremony was held on the ground of the Country Lodge and to say it was beautiful would be an understatement. The ceremony was conducted by Julie Tkachuk who happens to be one of our favorite officiants and a preferred vendor as well!
The couple made their exit to bubbles being blown by their loved ones all around them. It was gorgeous!!!
The Family Photos at the Country Lodge
We understand the importance of family and always strive to get family photos for our clients on their wedding day. For Nicole & Brodie, we used the fall foliage backdrop of the grounds and took some beautiful family photos after their ceremony. We are 100% certain the families will cherish these memories years down the road.
The Creative Formals at Red Willow Park, St. Albert
The creative formals are by far our favorite part of the day. Here we get to create some epic portraits for our clients by using various posing and photography techniques. During our scheduling meeting, Nicole and Brodie had asked me for a location that we could do their family formals at. I suggested the Red Willow Park as a great location since it was close to their wedding venue and had the perfect fall colors. The couple went ahead and found a train trestle which worked out so well for some of the portraits!
We took some creative portraits of the couple as well as some hilarious group photos with the rest of the bridal party! We know the bridal party members are an important part of the wedding day so we photograph them and give them some of the limelight! At one point, two of the groomsmen kissed while the couple was kissing for a photo. That photo might just be my very favorite photo of this year!
The Mayotte’s Reception at The Country Lodge
Nicole and Brodie entered to thunderous applause from their guests! The reception started right away with dinner of course! Their reception was really cool because they had a
The Dinner provided by the Country Lodge
The dinner was a delicious buffet provided by the excellent staff at the country lodge!
Decoration by Brodie & Nicole!
Given their attention to details and extraordinary design ability, Nicole & Brodie selected and even made some fo the decor for the reception. The results turned out absolutely gorgeous!
Amazing Cupcakes by Sammy
Instead of having the usual wedding cake, the couple chose to go with cupcakes instead. The cupcakes were made by Sammy who is a friend of the couple. She did an excellent job of the cupcakes. I can attest to that as I had three myself!
T-Rex at a Wedding
Now if I tell you I saw a dinosaur at a wedding, would you believe me? No, well go look at the pictures below because this couple had a t-rex at their wedding #weddinggoalsformyownwedding.
First Dance!
Nicole and Brodie started the party with their cute first dance together. They were then joined by their parents for the father daughter and mother son dances. We got a chance to photograph everyone enjoying themselves on the dance floor to the beat of the DJ.

Above is the beautiful Wedding Slideshow that came with BRIDE & GROOM’s wedding package. It was created from a selection of their best photos.

Have you seen high school sweethearts? Well here is an adorable couple for your afternoon craving for romance <3. This couple (Unnati & Dhrupad) met in high school via a mutual friend and have been dating each for the last 8 years.
After Dhrupad and Unnati ended up on a cruise together to Mexico last year, they decided it was time to tie the knot. Given that they both love food and life in general, the didn’t need much else in common. Also, one of them is an engineer and the other a nurse, Ill let you guess who is who.
I met this couple after they came across a photo I took for Tooba & Shahmeran’s Wedding. After our first meeting at a coffee shop, I knew I wanted to tell this couple’s story and I am glad I got the chance!
As Dhrupad hadn’t technically proposed to Unnati, I helped him setup the proposal by distracting Unnati during the photo shoot and letting Dhrupad sneak in behind her and get on his knee. It was adorable to see this happening!
We start the session at Muttart Conservatory and then as it got progressively colder, we move to El Cortez. El Cortez (Mexican Restaurant) happens to one of my favorite places for both food and photography so we were able to create some amazing artwork there!
Bitten by the travel bug, my dream now is to photograph love on every corner of the earth! If you are an adventurous soul who yearns to create some amazing photographs, contact me and we will have some cool adventures together! PS We will also have amazing coffee and food to plan out the adventure first!

Cook’s Wedding in Calgary Wedding Pavilion & Carriage House Inn
A beautiful Fall Wedding in Calgary, Alberta
Monika & Anthony decided to tie the knot on the 10th of October 2015. Their wedding was held at the Calgary’s Wedding Pavilion & Carriage House Inn. I was fortunate enough to be a part of their wedding day in collaboration with JM Photography. These are the photographs from their wedding and showcase what a beautiful ceremony it was!
Bride Getting Ready
Monika did most of her bridal prep at the Calgary Wedding Pavillion where the other bridesmaids assisted her. We got some photos of the dress being put on, some detail shots of the jewellery as well as some photos of the beautiful venue itself.
The Wedding Ceremony at the Calgary Wedding Pavillion
Wedding ceremonies represent not only the personality of the couple but also how they envision their lives ahead. Monika & Anthony’s ceremony was not only beautiful but it took place in the stunning Wedding Pavillion. It featured beautiful chandeliers and an amazing array of windows along the walls. Monika entered gracefully via the gorgeous staircase. This led to a magnificent ceremony which was followed by some family portraits and creative formals.
Creative Formals at the Fish Creek Park in Calgary, Alberta
Following the beautiful ceremony, we went down to the Fish Creek Park in Calgary to photograph the bridal party. During the formals, the guys had a lot of fun with the groom where they picked him up at one point in time.
We found a beautiful clearing in the woods that was lined by birch trees. It created a fantastic backdrop for these formals that you can see below:
We also ran into a generous individual who let us borrow his bike for some amazing photos!
Wedding Reception at the Carriage House Inn
Following the formals we travelled down to the Carriage House Inn in Calgary. This venue was equally beautiful if not more than the Calgary Wedding Pavilion. The wedding reception was themed around a rustic look that was well complemented by the wooden decorations.
Bride and groom entered to a jubilant crowd that cheered them on periodically during dinner (thus leading to kisses). During the dinner, there were some tearful speeches followed by the classic shoe game.
A gorgeous three-tiered cake was created by the venue. You can see that it was not only beautiful but delicious.
It was a great and beautiful day and I was honoured to spend it with this wonderful couple. Want to share the Box Cube Photography experience? Contact Me today to book your free consultation.

Below are some of the images from Brittney & Mike’s wedding that we shot with JM Photography. These photographs showcase a candid story of the day from the First Look down to the reception itself.
First Look at Bow River
The wedding day began with Mike waiting for his bride with his groomsmen at the bottom of a river valley that sits next to the Bow River in Calgary. While the groom and the groomsmen waited (and drank from their flasks) we took some awesome photographs that showcased this beautiful location!
Below are the photographs of Mike’s expression as he saw Brittany walk in through the breezy alley in her majestic wedding dress. The first moment they shared together evidently proclaimed “this is love”. It was a special moment that I felt honored to share with them.
As you can see from Mike’s expression, he was fairly anxious to see his bride to be 😛
Majestic trees do tend to help create amazing photographs and I am so glad to have had this tree assisting us. It formed both a shelter for the bride and groom and a great background for the photograph themselves. Accompanied with a shimmering river and a wonderful sunny afternoon, I could not have wished for better conditions.
The Ceremony at the Blue Devil Golf Course, Calgary
After taking a few more photographs with the bridal party, we started heading towards the Blue Devil Gold Club in Calgary to photograph the ceremony itself.
If the location of the formals was fantastic, then the ceremony location was gorgeous. It was situated on a veranda with a grand view of the golf course around it. Mike & Brittany professed their love to a cheering crowd and became one family. They exchanged rings and kissed at the end of a beautiful and simple ceremony.
Reception with a Pie! (you really wanna read this part!)
Not only is the Blue Devil Golf Course an excellent venue for the ceremony but also a great venue for the reception itself! The reception was held in one of the banquet halls where the Bride & Groom’s family and loved ones gathered. The decor was stylistic and rustic with accents of wood and fabric. You could see how much care and love had been poured into planning the wedding. In particular, there was a tree with Mike and Brittany’s name on the floor that was made out of a light shining through a mold. That, in my opinion, was fantastic.
Instead of choosing to do what everybody does, Brittany and Mike chose to get a pie instead of a cake for their wedding.
Following the cake cutting, the couple danced to a few slow songs followed by the parents joining them on the dancefloor. It was an excellent way to end the evening.
It was a great and beautiful day and I was honored to spend it with this wonderful couple. Want to share the Box Cube Photography experience? Contact Me today to book your free consultation.

Andrea & Mark’s Engagement Session at Victoria Park Ice Rink in Edmonton
A cold, snowy but beautiful afternoon in Edmonton!
https://vimeo.com/152016877
After having met Andrea and Mark in a cafe over coffee, I knew this session would be amazing. To say that the session went well would be quite an understatement. It was extremely cold that day and it was snowing heavily. Perfect conditions for some amazing snow photos!
This is their story and I am so glad I got to be a part of it!
After having met at the Ranch, Edmonton in 2013 during a party, Mark and Andrea decided there was something to explore beyond friendship here. They started dating shortly afterwards and did not attend many parties thereafter(not being party people themselves!). Being an adventurous couple, they went rock climbing and camping many times. On November 28th, 2015 Mark decided he wanted this beautiful woman to be a permanent part of his life and proposed to her in front of the Alberta Legislature. Andrea accepted and shortly after their engagement they met me and I got to hear this awesome love story. After hearing that both Mark and Andrea were expert ice skaters (Andrea is a figure skater!!), we decided an ice rink was the place to go! Mark and Andrea brought their Oiler’s Jerseys as well to show their love for their home team! Go Oilers!
Mark and Andrea’s Engagement Photos in Edmonton at the Ice Rink
We started off near the entrance of the Victoria Park in Edmonton and booted up to avoid the cold! That is when I started shooting away and saw the magic happen. Yes, Magic aka Love. Andrea and Mark were two bodies but one soul and their smiles and laughs were evidence of their love for each other! Look at these photos and tell me if it isn’t true?
Squirrel! Squirrel! Squirrel!
Well at one point I saw that the snowfall is extremely heavy around where Mark and Andrea were standing. It got me thinking, “How the hell is that possible?”. I look up and there is a squirrel moving the branches causes excess snowfall! Wow… Divine intervention?
Aren’t Engagement Rings Awesome?
Mark and Andrea love hockey and anything related to it. Therefore, their ring had to be hosted on a crow of a hockey puck as seen below!
Because Umbrella!
Now if there is snowfall, my brain defaults “Pretty pictureeesss!”. Mark and Andrea had a particular fascination with One Photo I took for Shahmeran & Tooba a year ago under a lit umbrella with snowfall happening around them. Well, we had to do that again!
Mark & Andrea’s Online Gallery
Mark and Andrea’s photos from their engagement session will be available at the following gallery for the next 30 days. From the online gallery, you are to able to select your favorite photos, order any prints or albums. You will require a password from Mark and Andrea to access the gallery below:
