Their Story

Matt & Lauren are two very cool engineers. Their life line were running pretty parallel until they both decided to volunteer while they were in school. As they say, the rest is history. They are both avid snowboarders and share my love for B99!

Ps. there is a new season out for B99 for those of you who are reading this blog!

A Winter Sunset Engagement Session!

You know what is one really cool thing about being this high up north? Not the snow. Don’t say the snow. It is the sunsets here. They are gorgeous, beautiful and entirely romantic even in sub-zero temperatures. In fact, this is the time I recommend that most couples do their photos because you get the golden hour glow

For Lauren & Matt’s Engagement session, I suggested we go to this amazing lookout spot in Edmonton that would afford us the perfect view of the River Valley and the sunset. This is exactly what the two were looking for. They had even brought along their snowboarding gear so we took some hilarious photos of Lauren ‘riding’ Matt. Trust me, it looks less inappropriate but quite hilarious!

THE ENGAGEMENT RING AND HOW THEY MET

Dan and Giulia met almost 2 years ago at Lakeland College. As they say, the rest is history! They have an adorable family of 3 young boys who are featured in their element in this blog post!

On a side note, Dan had to bribe the 3 boys to get their blessing so he could marry their mom <3 isn’t that adorable!

They are by far one of the funniest couples I have met (and they are laid back!). Their engagement session was a dream. We went out to the Rainbow Valley Park right around sunset to take some dreamy photos of the couple! With the fall foliage in the background and this couple, it was easy to produce these photos 😀

Jessie and Nikola met via mutual friends almost a year ago. They knew there was something there as soon as they connected. Their chemistry and their sweet nature just makes for an adorable couple.

We photographed them for their engagement session at the Legislature Building in Downtown Edmonton. The Legislature grounds combined with the majestic architecture overlooking the Edmonton downtown made for some fantastic imagery. I am so glad I got a chance to tell their story and photograph them. They get married next year in Nova Scotia and I wish the very best for this adorable couple 🙂

THE ENGAGEMENT RING AND HOW THEY MET

Ajay & Leina met in 2012 when they were two young-eyed students living in Lister Hall at the University of Alberta. At that time, Ajay was a residence assistant and Leina ran into him. From the first sight, she was smitten and actually told me about him in one of our classes since we used to be students together. Ajay soon found out about this doe-eyed beautiful girl who kept flirting glances at him whenever he was in the hallways and he knew he had to ask her out. Ajay slipped a poem under Leina’s door on Valentine’s day and as they say, the rest is history!

Ajay proposed to Leina in a unique way. He wrote a book about their story titled “A little Bit of Everything” and had it published. Then one evening, they went out to the Botanical Gardens and later to Bon Accord to watch meteor showers. There, he got down on one knee and recited a poem he had written for Leina and presented her with the book he had written about their story. She cried and said yes. Even I am crying writing this…

This adorable goofy couple is getting married this summer and I can not be more excited to photograph their wedding.

The Engagement Session at Hawrelak Park, Edmonton

We took Ajay & Leina’s Engagement photos at Hawerlak Park in Edmonton. The couple chose this location due to its beautiful greenery and fantastic features including a natural water fountain, a small bridge, and fantastic flora. We walked around for almost 2 hours doing silly things and creating hilarious memories. Their engagement photos focus on telling their story as they include the book Ajay proposed with as well as a picnic that the couple has been meaning to go to for years. If you notice the cover of the book, you will notice that some of the photos are the same as the cover…

I am so fortunate to have had the opportunity to photograph Ajay & Leina engagement photos and I am really looking forward to joining them on their wedding day.

Hockey happens to be both a favorite past time for Canadians as well as a pathway for love! Neda and Nathan met playing hockey year and years ago! This adorable couple went for their first date to the River Valley and it was also the place where Nathan proposed. Obviously, it was the ideal choice for the engagmeent photos as well!

It was an extremely chilly day wtih temperatures around -20 but Neda and Nathan braved the elements and we were able to create some awesome artwork for the couple! We also went down to the End of the World which has one of the most unique view of the Sasketchwan River (albeit it was frozen when we went there).

THE ENGAGEMENT RING AND HOW THEY MET

There is something so exquisite about being a photographer. You get to capture true emotion, true stories and see for yourself just how beautiful love can be. One look at these two and you’ll know they are the better halves of each other (seriously, the clothes match is adorable!).
David and Elsen met at church and knew they were it for one another. One year later, they were with us at the Alberta Legislature Building, telling their story the way they want to.
Elsen’s ring was a sparkling floral halo with a beautiful pear shaped stone in the center. It was special just like their story and positively regal!

We were lucky to have a gorgeous fall day. With beautiful fall colors in the background and the perfectly coordinated outfits, the pictures turned out stunning. The couple was really cute and their love was truly infectious! We were able to take advantage of a light drizzle that day and get some great scenic shots.
We love the added touch of the building’s magnificent architecture in the photos complimented by the couple’s enthusiasm!

I am so fortunate to have had the opportunity to photograph Elsen and David’s engagement photos and we wish them the best on their wedding day.

Kim and Andrew are high school sweethearts! They met at Halloween dance 11 years ago and have since been inseparable. I say those are #lovagoals. Kim and Andrew often take walks together in the river valley. This was also one of the first places Kim showed to Andrew when he visited her in Edmonton from Ontario before they both moved to Edmonton.

We like capturing stories and given that the beautiful Edmonton river valley was such an important part of Kim and Andrew’s love story, we thought it would be an excellent backdrop for their engagement photos! Where would you want your engagement photos?

THE ENGAGEMENT RING AND HOW THEY MET

The idea of love, at first sight, is delightful.

And sometimes it is just familiarity, where one soul recognizes another and calls it home.

For Jonathan and Nicole, the familiarity turned into something lasting. Their story began at the University of Alberta while volunteering together. Nicole caught John’s attention right away. While their first conversation didn’t go ideally, they gave it a shot and eventually the lovely couple found in each other something special. A classic four prong diamond ring promised forever for these two.

The Engagement Session at University of Alberta Old Arts Building

A building as old as a century, the Arts Building is full of stories. It is no surprise that the couple chose it to commemorate their special day. With its traditional red bricks and creeping vines, it made for the perfect backdrop and added beautiful hues of reds to the couple’s pictures. We had the chance to capture the love in the air surrounded by nature and fall colors.
The couple chose the location for its role in their story, and the pictures reveal their happiness and just how first impressions are not always the end. The day was complemented by the perfect weather.

I am so fortunate to have had the opportunity to photograph Nicole and Jonathan’s engagement photos and we are really looking forward to joining them on their wedding day.
