The Halabi’s Lebanese Wedding at St. Albert Botanic Park, Edmonton
“It’s always been him
She smiled
Our souls danced just the same.”
-Atticus
Their Story!
Here is a link to the couple’s engagement session:
Andy Getting Ready
Andy got ready at his home. His jacket was personalized to reflect the wedding date under the collar. What a neat idea! The boys matched their suits and went with a classic dark and light blue. Perfectly matched with the bridal party’s theme of purples!
Ashley Getting Ready
Ashley chose a tiara to go with her beautiful wedding dress. While she got ready, we took some photos of the tiny details like her bag that looks like a number plate, the ring, bouquet, and the elegant shoes to complete the look.
THEIR CEREMONY AT ASHLEY’S PARENTS HOME, EDMONTON
In Lebanese traditional weddings, the wedding party first meets at the bride’s home, the groom arrives amid lots of singing and dancing. This is exactly what happened with Ashley and Andy. Andy arrived to lots of cheering to meet and receive his beautiful bride. There were some speeches and phenomenal Lebanese food to go along with the festivities. This was followed by some family photos at the couple’s home and some at a beautiful park nearby!
FAMILY PHOTOS AT THE COUNTRY LODGE
We went to St. Albert Botanic Park for some of the family photos and creative formals with the bride and groom. It was a perfect summer day for a wedding and we couldn’t have asked for better weather.
CREATIVE FORMALS AT ST. ALBERT BOTANIC PARK
We stayed at the St. Alberta Botanic park for the creative formals (photos with the bride, groom, and bridal party). The green backdrop combined with a sunny day made the photos beautiful! The guys blew us away with a superhero pose (blew us away, get it?)
We took some photos with the bridal party followed by some more intimate moments between the bride and groom.
THE RECEPTION AT THE COUNTRY LODGE, EDMONTON
The reception was a party we all want to be part of. The whole family led a traditional dance Dabke, a folk dance performed at Lebanese weddings to mark the joyous occasion! It looked super fun and complex to me but I still had a great time taking photos. Pack comfortable shoes for this one, you’ll be on your feet for a while!
The whole day was a glam affair. You can’t miss the smoke in their reception photos or the stunning venue and Zaffe drummers to make it a party! Keeping with the tradition, they also had fireworks on their special day. This was one party everyone wanted to go to!
It was amazing to work with Ashley & Andy on their wedding day and we are honored to have been a part of their story! You can check out the rest of our work on our blog.
