The Cherry Blossoms are Here!

A Love So Beautiful

to be alive

The Engagement Slideshow

Above is the Engagement Slideshow that I created for the Stephanie & Andrew from their engagement photos.

The Engagement Ring and How They Met

There is something to be said for young love. That is why we write about it, sing about it, and cry over movies about it. Stephanie and Andrew met in 10th grade by adjacent lockers. Andrew took his girl to high school grad by asking her out with a scavenger hunt! How adventurous and fun (one more thing about that young love eh). She said yes to the dance and years later, Andrew asked Stephanie’s parents for their blessing. Stephanie had no clue when Andrew picked her up from work. He took her to Whitemud Park and played “Say Something” by A Great Big World. Listening to the story made our heart skip a beat. This was the song they danced to at their High School grad. While the song played, Andrew proposed to Stephanie on a bridge. Stephanie cried, Andrew cried and so did I.
They can eat a ton of Cake of a Thousand Layers and Halo Halo shaved ice.
They both love Brooklyn 99.
They are basically goals and I ship them hard.

The Engagement Session at the George F. Hustler Memorial Plaza

Did you know that there are over 200 different varieties of cherry blossoms? Just like love, there are so many kinds, yet all precious and beautiful. Everybody needs to see them up close at least once in their lifetime. Stephanie and Andrew are the lucky ones to have found love just as beautiful as the pretty blooms.
The engagement session took place at George F. Hustler Memorial Plaza near Muttart Conservatory. It was cherry blossom season and the grounds were a gorgeous canopy of pinks and greens. The sun shone bright and so did these two!
Cherry blossoms last only a week so there was a big crowd (I’d go again, it was picturesque!), we got some beautiful photos and these two gave us all the goals to aspire to!

Online Gallery

An online gallery of all their images is available for the next 90 days. From the online gallery you are able to favourite images, order prints and share the gallery with your family and friends. The gallery can be accessed via the link below and you can contact the couple directly for their secure password.

It was amazing to work with Stephanie & Andrew for their engagement photos and I am honored to have been a part of their story! You can check out the rest of my work on my blog.

The Wedding Slideshow

Above is the beautiful Wedding Slideshow that came with Veronica & Daniel’s wedding. It was created from a selection of photos that tell the story of the couple’s wedding day.

CREATIVE FORMALS AT THE TAVERN & LOUISE MCKINNEY RIVERFRONT PARK

Our day began at the Tavern, a cool rustic location the couple chose. Daniel stood waiting for bride with his back turned. Veronica walked up to him and put her hand on his shoulder. Called the first look, this little tradition was so adorable.
We also took some great shots at another beautiful location, the Louise Mckinney Riverfront Park. Even by the River Valley, the couple’s love brought out all the warmth in the pictures!

THEIR CEREMONY AT THE THE COUNTRY LODGE

For a couple this cool, what is more, suitable than a cabin with gorgeous grounds?
The ceremony took place in The Country Lodge. Charming and quaint, it was the perfect little venue for a cute wedding. Veronica and Daniel did things unconventionally. Daniel stood waiting for bride at the altar with his back turned. Veronica walked up to him and put her hand on his shoulder. Called the first look, this little tradition was so adorable. The whole ceremony was full of these sweet moments between the two and we couldn’t get enough of it!

THE RECEPTION AT THE COUNTRY LODGE

After the ceremony, we were able to get some pictures of the adorable couple and their family. The first dance was a showstopper! The guest swooned and all lights were on the couple. We were able to get some really fun shots of people dancing, the meaningful looks between the couple and all the love in the room!

It was amazing to work with Daniel & Veronica on their wedding day and we are honored to have been a part of their story! You can check out the rest of our work on our blog.

The Engagement Ring and How They Met

Mackenzie and Nathan are one cute and adorable couple. They met on Tinder, the bringer of people together and the birther of modern love. Nathan is a power engineer whose spare time hobby is hunting. His hunting skills have gotten him the best catch of his life: our sublime bride to be Mackenzie! Mackenzie works for the government of Alberta and likes to dance. Obviously, she waltzed right into her lucky hubby’s life. The two like to bake together and are, simply put, a real-life white picket fence type of couple. Their first date took place at The Canadian Brewhouse of Northgate Mall. Nathan knew how important and cut-throat first dates and first impressions are. So, even though he had broken his finger in a bike related incident right before the date, he did not want to miss it. He soldiered through a competitive bowling match with Mackenzie, who happens to be a strong energetic woman who lifts regularly, and then they went on a memorable walk in the river valley. Sometime later when it was time to pop the big question, Nathan proposed to Mackenzie in Hawaii with a classic petite-pavé princess cut diamond ring. The simple yet elegant cut of the engagement ring reflects on the very spirit of this spontaneous life-loving couple.

The Engagement Session on Whyte Avenue Edmonton

The Engagement session took place on a gorgeous and truly picture worthy property in the small hamlet of Namao in Central Alberta. The goofiness, laughter filled aura of this loveable couple filled the air and the photography session was a breezy enjoyable experience. Nathan and Mackenzie also brought along their cute puppies that we had the joy of incorporating in our photos. The same location will be the wedding location, so it was a great little adventure for our team and our bride and groom to be, to explore all the nooks and crannies that will make our natural setting. We caught all the right angles and took some mesmerizing stills some of which we are thrilled to share with you.
The lightly drifting clouds in a clear blue sky allowed us to play with the natural light and capture the love and happiness of our adorable couple and their furry children in very many shades. We were also blessed with a breathtaking romantic sunset that shone a golden light on the shimmery strands of our bride’s gorgeous hair and added to the twinkle of love in the eyes of the lovers. Mother nature also set us up with a young field of canola flowers that was greatly and equally appreciated by both us and the dogs. All in all, this was a beautiful joyful session.

We are so fortunate to have had the opportunity to photograph Mackenzie and Nathan’s engagement session and we are really looking forward to joining them on their wedding day. You can check out the rest of our work on our blog!
