Their Story!

Here is a link to the couple’s engagement session:

Andy Getting Ready

Andy got ready at his home. His jacket was personalized to reflect the wedding date under the collar. What a neat idea! The boys matched their suits and went with a classic dark and light blue. Perfectly matched with the bridal party’s theme of purples!

Ashley Getting Ready

Ashley chose a tiara to go with her beautiful wedding dress. While she got ready, we took some photos of the tiny details like her bag that looks like a number plate, the ring, bouquet, and the elegant shoes to complete the look.

THEIR CEREMONY AT ASHLEY’S PARENTS HOME, EDMONTON

In Lebanese traditional weddings, the wedding party first meets at the bride’s home, the groom arrives amid lots of singing and dancing. This is exactly what happened with Ashley and Andy. Andy arrived to lots of cheering to meet and receive his beautiful bride. There were some speeches and phenomenal Lebanese food to go along with the festivities. This was followed by some family photos at the couple’s home and some at a beautiful park nearby!

FAMILY PHOTOS AT THE COUNTRY LODGE

We went to St. Albert Botanic Park for some of the family photos and creative formals with the bride and groom. It was a perfect summer day for a wedding and we couldn’t have asked for better weather.

CREATIVE FORMALS AT ST. ALBERT BOTANIC PARK

We stayed at the St. Alberta Botanic park for the creative formals (photos with the bride, groom, and bridal party). The green backdrop combined with a sunny day made the photos beautiful! The guys blew us away with a superhero pose (blew us away, get it?)

We took some photos with the bridal party followed by some more intimate moments between the bride and groom.

THE RECEPTION AT THE COUNTRY LODGE, EDMONTON

The reception was a party we all want to be part of. The whole family led a traditional dance Dabke, a folk dance performed at Lebanese weddings to mark the joyous occasion! It looked super fun and complex to me but I still had a great time taking photos. Pack comfortable shoes for this one, you’ll be on your feet for a while!
The whole day was a glam affair. You can’t miss the smoke in their reception photos or the stunning venue and Zaffe drummers to make it a party! Keeping with the tradition, they also had fireworks on their special day. This was one party everyone wanted to go to!

It was amazing to work with Ashley & Andy on their wedding day and we are honored to have been a part of their story! You can check out the rest of our work on our blog.

Fall & Love!

My lover asks me:
“What is the difference between me and the sky?”
The difference, my love,
Is that when you laugh,
I forget about the sky –

The Wedding Slideshow

Above is the beautiful Wedding Slideshow that came with Rhonda and Gordon’s wedding. It was created from a selection of photos that tell the story of the couple’s wedding day.

Gordon Getting Ready

Our day began at Gordon’s house, amongst friends and with some truly delicious coffee (much called for at 6 am in the morning!). Gordon was surrounded by groomsmen and made use of his much cherished coffee maker for a wake up call. The young men were a striking sight in their blue coats ready to support their friend on his special day. The color combo of classic blue and grey added a nice contrast to the pictures and a coffee toast ended the dress up session.

Rhonda Getting Ready

Rhonda was to be found at her parent’s place preparing for the big day and she chose the traditional red dress for the first half of the day. She looked stunning!
The groom had to pay his dues to see the lovely bride. According to chinese tradition, the groom must earn the first sight. At the door, the men found their way blocked by determined bridesmaids refusing to “surrender” the bride. While they negotiated they enjoyed some lemonade, chicken and after sufficient hong bao, the groom was let in.

Rhonda was escorted by her dad and she along with Gordon then took part in the tea ceremony. Both served tea to the bride’s parents as an expression of respect. They did the same at the groom’s house where Gordon’s dad impressed with his culinary skills and the family enjoyed a lovely meal together before the ceremony.

THEIR CEREMONY AT THE ALBERTA ART GALLERY , EDMONTON

For a love like art, what better place to exhibit than the gallery?
The ceremony took place in The Theatre at the Alberta Art Gallery. Simple and elegant, it made for the perfect setting to enjoy traditional games and cherished moments with loved ones. The wedding involved a really fun game with shoes and a competition between the bride and groom. Both had to answer questions about each other and the crowd had a really good time!
It was a beautiful ceremony and the love was everywhere. We were just glad we caught some on camera!

CREATIVE FORMALS AT ALBERTA ART GALLERY

The location is as unique as the couple themselves. With its long windows and outstanding architecture, we were able to get some truly special photos. We also took some gorgeous shots on the roof of the gallery, with perfect lightning and the right weather, they turned out stunning! Talk about putting the love on top!

THE RECEPTION AT BEIJING BEIJING RESTAURANT

The reception was held in a cute, family style restaurant. It was intimate, simple and just perfect. There the couple wowed everyone with the classic ‘I Do’ by 98 degrees in a sweet first dance. The father daughter dance left everyone in tears (the good kind!). A small cake cutting ceremony followed, adding just the right sweetness to the day and a final dance wrapped up the ceremony perfectly.

It was amazing to work with Rhonda and Gordon on their wedding day and we are honored to have been a part of their story! You can check out the rest of our work on our blog.

The Engagement and How They Met

Ashley and Cody’s love story is a worldly one; it starts with a date back in 2013 in Edmonton’s coziest café: Block 1912. It thrives while Cody’s job takes him back and forth between Canada and Chile. The couple go on a ski trip where Cody woos Ashley and shows her his sweet skills that he acquired having been an ex ski racer. They travel Europe together where this adorable love journey makes a gleeful stop at Paris in March 2017, where Russian babushka dolls team with the Parisian Eiffel tower to make a great proposal.

In the city of love and lights, and on top of its eternal emblem, Cody gets down on one knee and offers his beloved a set of Babushka dolls. Ashley opens them one from within the other, where he had put love notes…layers of Babushka and layers of love if you will! Inside the last doll, there was a gorgeous double halo round cut diamond ring. Ashley, of course, says yes to this most romantic and well thought out proposal.

The Engagement Session at the Furgusons lake house by lake Wabanum

The engagement photos were taken at the couple’s lake house by Wabanum lake where romance was truly in the air. We captured them while they went for a canoe ride on the lake’s calm and sublime surface. This was quite reminiscent of the famous “boat scene” from the movie The Notebook, the epitome of romance and romantic movies. It was a love fragrant moment that we got to immortalize. However, the romance was not the only sentiment in the air, cuteness and loyalty were too. The couple’s adorable pup Thor was an integral part in the photoshoot as he is in their lives. We got to photograph him dipping his paws in the lake and playing with his humans :).

We Also took advantage of the sunset to snap some intimate pictures of Ashley and Cody snuggled up by the dancing flame roasting marshmallows and drinking their favorite beer. The glow of the setting sun and the docile fire mimicked the glow of love in the couple’s eyes. The ambiance was complemented by the customized Heineken beer bottles bearing Ashley and Cody’s names that they have had made for the occasion.

Some of our favorite photos were also shot while trotting on the train tracks, showing a long cheerful journey of love and dedication traveled, and an even longer happier continuation ahead of the Fergusons. Like the tracks of the train, so does the path of our celebrated lovers, find its way steady and strong amongst nature’s greenery. We were in luck to wrap up our photography session with the train chugging through, red and bold in the color of love and passion.

Cupid’s Arrow

Love’s heralds should be thoughts,
Which ten times faster glide than the sun’s beams
Driving back shadows over low’ring hills.
Therefore do nimble-pinioned doves draw Love,
And therefore hath the wind-swift Cupid wings. ” — William Shakespeare

The Engagement Ring and How They Met

Elianna and Giovanni’s love story beings about two and a half years ago when Cupid shot them with his electronic bow and arrow. OKCupid was the app that brought these two lovebirds together. Later on in January 2017, on a memorable Friday, Giovanni proposed in a romantic and intimate way by adorning the house with twinkling candles and surprising Elianna. He gave her a beautiful infinity braided diamond ring to symbolize his own infinite commitment and everlasting love to her. The Di Lullos are a picture perfect romantic couple that love to take walks together or go ice skating. They also have an adorable Havanese dog named Leo to witness their love unfurl daily.

The Engagement Session at Edmonton’s Whitemud ravine park

The lovely couple’s engagement photography session took place by the river in the ravine of Whitemud park, one of Edmonton’s most scenic locations, especially in the springtime. There is truly no better time to capture love at its finest than during spring. Mother nature looked like she has put on her best and most regal outfit just to celebrate the betrothal of two of her children. And truly once more, there is no better place to celebrate Giovanni’s promise of eternal love to his beloved Elianna than outdoors amidst Rainbow Valley’s joyful foliage and peaceful greenery.

We took a walk on a great sunny day, and took some gorgeous pictures of the bride and groom to be. The huddling tree canopies mimicked the couples own loving hugs, while the sneaking sun rays heralded their bright future of married life. Our lens magically captured Elianna and Giovanni’s blossoming love on the trails of Rainbow Valley park; trails that reminded us much of the trails and journeys of life that willed that these two lovely people meet and fall in love. One of our favorite stills of them is a shot on one of the park’s bridges where a hugging Giovanni and Elianna look like they are about to cross over to the next phase of their life that we wish is full of wedded bliss and happiness.

I am so fortunate to have had the opportunity to photograph Elianna and Giovanni’s engagement photos and we are really looking forward to joining them on their wedding day.

The Walker’s Engagement Session at Edmonton’s Whyte Avenue

Love Me Under The Umbrella

“And when the moment is right you confess your love. ” – Lumière To Beast

The Engagement Ring and How They Met

When the Moment was right, the Beast and prince charming of this story: Dustin, confessed his love, and commitment to his Beauty: Robyn with a beautiful halo ring in October 2016. Dustin had been joking about proposing, and he finally did it. This was quite the surprise to the bride to be, and a great way to start the next chapter in the couple’s fairy tale. This modern time Fairytale starts with them meeting online four years ago and continues today with us being able to snap shots of the current page in their book: The Engagement photos on Whyte Avenue.

The Engagement Session on Whyte Avenue Edmonton

The Engagement session was Beauty and the Beast themed, much like the wedding is going to be when it takes place at The Country Lodge. The couple chose Whyte Avenue so we were able to take great photos of Robyn and Dustin that reflect both their love of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast in its classic romance and the modernity of this Edmontonian couple’s love. We also snapped some great photos at The Edmonton Radio Railway Society, famed for its color popping graffiti art.

In a cute gesture, Dustin brought a lone red rose much like the emblematic rose of the Beast. So we ran with the theme and took really neat shots of yet another emblem of Walker’s love: the halo engagement ring within the rose’s petals. Moreover, fate would have it so as the romance studded afternoon would get “soaked” in more romance when it started raining cats and dogs.

After taking fantastic photos of the lovebirds in different poses under the rain and under the umbrella..ella..ella..eh..eh..eh like Rihanna would say, we finally escaped the showers, into a cozy pub. Robyn and Dustin were very gracious and bought the drinks. And we concluded a great photography session by drinking and cheering to the bride and groom’s coming bright days of wedding happiness.

It was amazing to work with Robyn and Dustin on their wedding day and we can’t be more excited to share their final images with them in the coming weeks! You can check out the rest of our work on our blog!

Love will play no games ‘cause love knows life has been hard enough already.” — Rupi Kaur

The Engagement Ring and How They Met

Their story is short and sweet! Alyssa ran into Jordan at a bar on Whyte Avenue years ago. They two-stepped all night and the rest is history! They got engaged in July 2017 when they went hiking. Jordan led Alyssa down to a waterfall where he got down on one knee and asked her to become his partner in crime for the rest of their lives.

The Engagement Session at Whyte Avenue, Edmonton

Having met at Whyte Avenue, it made for the perfect location for their engagement session. It was a chilly day, Edmonton being Edmonton. We walked around the Old Farmer’s Market, The Fire Station on Whyte and the Edmonton Street Carbarn!

A Winter Wonderland Wedding

Andre Getting Ready at Courtyard by Marriott, Edmonton

We started the wedding day by photographing Andre as he got ready with his son and dad. We photographed some of the details of his wedding day wardrobe followed by some candid photos of Andre and Jamal. I distinctly remember the ring being lost for a while panic sat in. We search high and low, left and right for the ring and ensured that Cathy didn’t find out. We eventually found the ring to everybody’s relief!

Cathy Getting Ready at Courtyard by Marriott, Edmonton

Cathy looked absolutely beautiful for her wedding day and we had the privilege to photograph her. There were some absolutely adorable moments like when Cathy’s mom saw her for the first time in her wedding dress. There was no lack of tears for sure!

Their First Look at the Courtyard by Marriott, Edmonton

Cathy & Andre opted for a first look ceremony where they saw each other before the actual ceremony. Andre waited on the balcony of the Courtyard by Mariott while Cathy walked up to him in her wedding dress. The love between the two was positively visible a mile away when Cathy and Andre saw each other.

The Creative Formals at Muttart Conservatory

Following the first look ceremony, we went out to the Muttart Conservatory where we photographed the couple and their bridal party. The formal photos were definitely chilly given the winter wonderland that Edmonton is during January. We got to take some beautiful night time winter photos. The snow-covered landscape near the Muttart was beautiful to photograph the couple in!

The Moffett’s Ceremony & Reception at Muttart Conservatory

The couple’s ceremony and reception took place at the Muttart Conservatory. For the ceremony, one of the feature pyramids was used. The loved ones of the couple gathered as Andre & Cathy tied the knot. Julie Tkachuk did a wonderful job of the ceremony.

The reception itself was a simple and elegant one with a couple of speeches, a splendid dinner and a first dance followed by a gangam style performance by the groom!

THE ENGAGEMENT RING AND HOW THEY MET

Lauren & Patrick met 5.5 years ago via OkCupid! Their first date is the definition of an amazing first date. It started off with Dinner at Montana’s followed by bowling. They then went for a walk down to White Mud Park (which will become an epic location in their love story eventually!) and concluded the evening with a Star Wars Marathon! These two individuals enjoy music a lot and happen to have the coolest proposal I have ever heard of!

Being the songwriter and singer, Patrick decided to write Lauren a song. One evening the couple went for a drive down to White Mud Park. In the parking lot, Patrick asked Lauren if she could hear a song he had written. Patrick often requests this of Lauren so this was nothing unusual. He put on the song he had recorded on the car’s music player. As the song starts playing, the screen within the car flashes “Hey Lauren, for serious, will you marry me?”. She did not see it coming! She, of course, said yes. If nothing, the proposal itself deserved a yes!

Their ring has a cool story of its own. They went to the different jewelry stores to find the perfect engagement ring but nothing was right. Finally, Lauren’s dad mentioned that her grandpa still had her great-great grandma’s ring. This was the perfect ring and Lauren was the perfect person to inherit that family heirloom. The ring itself has an un-identified stone which is either an extremely precious stone or old whiskey bottle glass!

It was amazing to work with Lauren & Patrick on their wedding day and we can’t be more excited to share their final images with them in the coming weeks! You can check out the rest of our work on our blog!
