Trina & Joushua photos will take approximately 12 to 16 weeks to edit and once they have booked their viewing session and seen their photos they will be released to the following gallery for a limited time. Sign up today and we will notify you the moment the photos have been released. From the online gallery you will be able to view and star your favourite images, as well as order prints from the wedding.

The Bouffard’s Same Day Slideshow

The Reception slideshow above is included in everyone one of our wedding collections and is very well loved by both family and friends. It is composed of a selection of photos from the time the bride and groom are getting ready to the ceremony, family formals and creative formals. It is presented in a classic black and white video format that we show during the reception on a projector and a screen we bring along with us. We also upload the same slideshow the very next day to our blog for everyone to enjoy while we edit and prepare the wedding day images.

Some of our favorite Same Day Edits from their Wedding

Most of our same day edits are always done in black and white as we save the color ones for the completion of their wedding photos.

It was amazing to work with Trina & Joshua on their wedding day and we can’t be more excited to share their final images with them in the coming weeks! You can check out the rest of our work at our blog!

Wanna Get Married in the Middle of a River on top of a Bridge?

Imagine having a wedding where your really close friends and loved ones are sitting with you in a street car. The street car itself is slowly moving on an beautiful wrought iron bridge in the middle of a river. On both side of the bridge are beautiful vistas of the Edmonton River Valley. That is what the Edmonton Radial Railway Society has to offer.

The Edmonton Radial Railway Society hosts three beautiful vintage street cars. These railcars are a beautiful window into the bygone Era of streetcars and Edmonton’s past. I had the distinct pleasure of photographing a wedding in one of these streetcars and I can freely admit, it was by far the coolest wedding I have EVER photographed. The couple (Steve & Nicole) loved the unique experience they had for their ceremony.

The Streetcar can accommodate up to 30 people and has space for a small intimate ceremony. The Railcar station near Whyte Avenue is in itself a unique and amazing location for wedding and engagement photos!

The Mayotte’s Wedding at The Country Lodge, Edmonton

The Perfect Fall Wedding at the Country Lodge

Nicole & Brodie’s wedding was the perfect fall wedding once could have asked for. It was filled with golden colors and glorious autumn light. Leading up to their wedding, the Edmonton weather had been horrible. It was filled with rains and unpleasantly cold temperatures. Lo and behold, the wedding day arrives and the sky is miraculously clear and we get pleasantly warm weather. It was a perfect day to get married!

Their Story!

Brodie Getting Ready and Playing Settlers!

We started the Mayotte’s wedding day at the couple’s house where Brodie was getting ready. His groomsmen had joined him for the preparations and they all looked very dapper even before they put on their wedding attire. We photographed some of the details including the cufflinks, the Steve Madden shoes, the rings and his classy white tie. At one point, the groom and groomsmen got into a game of settlers and I made sure we got some goofy photos of that! We finished this part of the day with some classic posed black and white photos of the groom and his groomsmen!

Nicole & Her Cool Group of Bridesmaids

This section started with us photographing a gorgeous bottle of champagne that the bride and her bridesmaids were enjoying when we got to their location. Following that, we photographed the details including Nicole’s beautiful wedding dress, the jewelry she wore, her shoes and her beautiful teal scarf. The ladies also wore matching bridesmaids gowns that looked fantastic together! We finally took some photos as Nicole put on her dress and got ready for the ceremony!

Their Ceremony at The Country Lodge, Edmonton

The country lodge is such an amazing venue. It is this tiny little cabin on the north side of Edmonton that has gorgeous grounds all around it. I have had the pleasure of photographing multiple weddings there and each one turned out amazing! Nicole and Brodie’s ceremony was held on the ground of the Country Lodge and to say it was beautiful would be an understatement. The ceremony was conducted by Julie Tkachuk who happens to be one of our favorite officiants and a preferred vendor as well!

The couple made their exit to bubbles being blown by their loved ones all around them. It was gorgeous!!!

The Family Photos at the Country Lodge

We understand the importance of family and always strive to get family photos for our clients on their wedding day. For Nicole & Brodie, we used the fall foliage backdrop of the grounds and took some beautiful family photos after their ceremony. We are 100% certain the families will cherish these memories years down the road.

The Creative Formals at Red Willow Park, St. Albert

The creative formals are by far our favorite part of the day. Here we get to create some epic portraits for our clients by using various posing and photography techniques. During our scheduling meeting, Nicole and Brodie had asked me for a location that we could do their family formals at. I suggested the Red Willow Park as a great location since it was close to their wedding venue and had the perfect fall colors. The couple went ahead and found a train trestle which worked out so well for some of the portraits!

We took some creative portraits of the couple as well as some hilarious group photos with the rest of the bridal party! We know the bridal party members are an important part of the wedding day so we photograph them and give them some of the limelight! At one point, two of the groomsmen kissed while the couple was kissing for a photo. That photo might just be my very favorite photo of this year!

The Mayotte’s Reception at The Country Lodge

Nicole and Brodie entered to thunderous applause from their guests! The reception started right away with dinner of course! Their reception was really cool because they had a

The Dinner provided by the Country Lodge

The dinner was a delicious buffet provided by the excellent staff at the country lodge!

Decoration by Brodie & Nicole!

Given their attention to details and extraordinary design ability, Nicole & Brodie selected and even made some fo the decor for the reception. The results turned out absolutely gorgeous!

Amazing Cupcakes by Sammy

Instead of having the usual wedding cake, the couple chose to go with cupcakes instead. The cupcakes were made by Sammy who is a friend of the couple. She did an excellent job of the cupcakes. I can attest to that as I had three myself!

T-Rex at a Wedding

Now if I tell you I saw a dinosaur at a wedding, would you believe me? No, well go look at the pictures below because this couple had a t-rex at their wedding #weddinggoalsformyownwedding.

First Dance!

Nicole and Brodie started the party with their cute first dance together. They were then joined by their parents for the father daughter and mother son dances. We got a chance to photograph everyone enjoying themselves on the dance floor to the beat of the DJ.

The Mayotte’s Wedding Day Slideshow

Above is the beautiful Wedding Slideshow that came with BRIDE & GROOM’s wedding package. It was created from a selection of their best photos.

It was amazing to work with BRIDE & GROOM on their wedding day and we can’t be more excited to share their final images with them in the coming weeks! You can check out the rest of our work at our blog!

Edmonton is Beautiful in Winter // Unpleast yet Beautiful!

One of my friends Tessa, who happens to be an excellent photographer agreed to be my impromptu model. We went out to this cool location on 82nd Ave where there is a bridge overlooking the river valley. We decided it might be a cool location to take photos in! During this time we created some cool portraits and landscapes!

She showed me some neat techniques related to landscape photography which allowed me to capture this cool photo of the road. Once we took some photos on the bridge, our cameras started getting cold and unpleasant to hold (wow that rhymed lol). We moved to a nearby location and tried to warm our hands, unsuccessfully. We took some portraits against some trees as the background. Following this, we went to Alexander circle which is this cool roundabout with a park in the middle.

I am so glad that I had the opportunity to photograph Tessa who is a fellow photographer in Edmonton, Alberta.

Destiny Ezurs Portrait Session in Downtown, Edmonton // Portrait Photographer

Cold day for cool portraits!

Destiny is a fellow portrait photographer who is absolutely amazing and works out of Fort Mcmurray, Alberta. She was travelling to Edmonton and I contacted her to setup a collaborative shoot with her last year. We decided we wanted to do some alternative portraits and head shots in the heart of Edmonton; Downtown. We met up near the 104th Street and then started the session. It was fairly cold that day (brave of Destiny to put up with that cold!!). We looked a little crazy lugging around a ton of photography equipment in the middle of downtown on a weekday morning but it was all totally worth it!

Edmonton Downtown

Edmonton downtown is, as the name suggests, the main business and commercial intersection of the city. It is also home to some cool architecture and grungy backgrounds. This is what we were aiming for when we planned the shoot so this was perfect! We eventually found this set of closed roller shutters that made for a perfect background for the following portraits!

Blue Plate Diner

Following the cold shoot, we went to Blue Plate Diner to have some lunch. This was a perfect reprieve from the cold. The soup at the Diner was perfect after that session of photography.

Fall Portraits in River Valley // Edmonton Portrait Photographer

Creative Shoots

Improving my skills as a portrait photographer is a very big priority for me. This ensures that I am able to do my best for my clients. In order to gain new skills as well as to network with people, I often work on collaborative shoots that involved multiple creative individuals. These collaborative shoots are opportunities for me to use novel techniques in safe environment and improve my skills while creating some amazing artwork for all the creative individuals involved. Fall Portraits in the River valley was one such shoot. A number of individuals came together to create a shoot that was centered around the idea of fall colors (yellow, red, greens and orange) and the Edmonton River valley.

Fall Portraits

The colors of fall are undeniable the best part of the fall season (the slightly chilly yet refreshing winds would come as a close second). It is a favorite time of the year for families to renew their family photos, weddings to happens and in general it is a time for festivity. We decided it was an excellent time to use for some creative photography. Therefore Jane & Cristina braved the chilly weather as models while Liliana created some amazing costumes for them.

River Valley, Edmonton

River valley in Edmonton is one of the largest systems of parks in Canada and is easily one of the most photographed spots here. We chose this location due to its beautiful foliage cover and complex system of paths that we could use as an excellent spot to do photos in. The river valley looks equally beautiful in fall as it looks in Winter, albeit completely different. In the winter it is one of my favorite spots to take couples for their engagement sessions. In the fall on the other hand it is an amazing spot for family photos.

Balsa’s Wedding at Hastings Lake Gardens // Edmonton Wedding Photographers

A Pinup Wedding at Hastings Lake Gardens

Their Story:

Cute Family, Check, Amazing Couple, Check, Best Wedding Venue in the City, Check, Great Weather, Check. That is what I am talking about when I say this wedding was perfect in every way. Even the cake was perfect down to every fruity flavor! Joe & Benjamin met via Instagram and as they say, the rest is history!

The Family Getting Ready!

The day started off with the bride and groom getting ready at Benjamin’s house in Windsor Estates. The house was a magnificent multi story house that was built by hand by the groom’s parents over a period of 20 years. This put some significant emotional impact on the beautiful location! The same house was also used for family photos and the wedding reception as well.

As Jo was getting ready, she gave her maid of honor and her mother in law a small gift that was met with tears and hugs! They also did a small first look ceremony where Jo & Benjamin saw each other for the first time. It was extremely cute!

Beautiful & Short Ceremony at the Hastings Lake Gardens

The ceremony was held at the Beautiful Hastings Lake gardens. The ceremony was the shortest I have every photographed. It was quick and to the point: celebrate the love of these two lover birds and their new life together.

The venue is a beautiful rustic venue that had a really cool church and a tractor in one area of the property. We got a chance to photograph the amazing couple at these cool locations!

Creative Formals at Hastings Lake Gardens

Following the ceremony, we stole the bride and groom from the rest of their guests to photograph them in the beautiful country side of the Hastings Lake Gardens. There was some old farm equipment that we also used to create some amazing portraits for the couple!

The Balsa Reception at Windsor Estates

Event Setup by Special Event Rentals

Following the creative formal we followed the couple back to the groom’s parent’s house where the reception was to be held. The reception was held outdoors in a pavilion that was setup by Special Event Rentals! They did an amazing job of the decor and it fit the couple’s personality perfectly!

THEIR STORY!

Have you seen high school sweethearts? Well here is an adorable couple for your afternoon craving for romance <3.  This couple (Unnati & Dhrupad) met in high school via a mutual friend and have been dating each for the last 8 years.

After Dhrupad and Unnati ended up on a cruise together to Mexico last year, they decided it was time to tie the knot. Given that they both love food and life in general, the didn’t need much else in common. Also, one of them is an engineer and the other a nurse, Ill let you guess who is who.

I met this couple after they came across a photo I took for Tooba & Shahmeran’s Wedding. After our first meeting at a coffee shop, I knew I wanted to tell this couple’s story and I am glad I got the chance!

As Dhrupad hadn’t technically proposed to Unnati, I helped him setup the proposal by distracting Unnati during the photo shoot and letting Dhrupad sneak in behind her and get on his knee. It was adorable to see this happening!

We start the session at Muttart Conservatory and then as it got progressively colder, we move to El Cortez. El Cortez (Mexican Restaurant) happens to one of my favorite places for both food and photography so we were able to create some amazing artwork there!

Bitten by the travel bug, my dream now is to photograph love on every corner of the earth! If you are an adventurous soul who yearns to create some amazing photographs, contact me and we will have some cool adventures together! PS We will also have amazing coffee and food to plan out the adventure first!

Edmonton Bridal Stylist / Wedding Day Fashion Stylist – Featured Vendor – Tyrel Abbott Weddings

Edmonton Bridal Stylist – Featured Vendor – Tyrel Abbott Weddings

As part of our commitment to our clients and their wedding day, we often partner with other vendors to see if they would be a good fit for our clients. Those partnerships usually lead to great results and we are then able to refer those vendors to our clients, as we trust them. One such partnership was that with Tyrel Abbott who is a bridal stylist.

What is a bridal stylist or wedding day fashion stylist?

Wedding days are huge moments in the couple’s life and a bridal stylist allows them to plan those moments according to their sense of fashion and style. It includes helping you decide on the dress, jewelry and even the shoes you will wear on the wedding day. A bridal stylist will give you advice on a hairstyle that will work well for your look as well as the kind of makeup that would look amazing.

I had the pleasure of working with Tyrel Abbott who was a current fashion director for “Say Yes to the Dress Canada”. He is a Bridal stylist who has styled many brides head-to- toe for their wedding day.

Edmonton Bridal Stylist Wedding Day Fashion Stylist - Featured Vendor - Tyrel Abott Weddings (13)

Here is the interview with Tyrell Abbott:

How did you get started?

My career as a Bridal Stylist began when I was helping a friend who was shopping for a wedding dress. Unintentionally, I took over her appointment and the owner of the store noticed, she later reached out to me and offered me a job.

Tell me about your favorite wedding last season.

I worked with a bride last year that had overcome some big personal issues.  Because of this she was having difficulties envisioning her body in a dress.  She had heard about me from a friend of hers who I had dressed for her wedding.  I loved that I could help her see that she was beautiful and worthy of having the best day.  We shopped at several stores and through a few tears found her perfect dress.  I love helping brides find that!

How far out should a bride pay a deposit to secure your services for her wedding day?

Weddings take time to plan.  If you are seeking my services as a Bridal Stylist purely for shopping, I’d recommend booking two months ahead of when you plan to order your dress which is typically six to nine months before your wedding date. If you are looking for full-service freelance Wedding Planning, I’d recommend booking shortly after your engagement, when you are ready to start sorting out the specifics. Deposits are made within 2 weeks of booking me and the balance is due 10 days prior to the event or at the completion of finding your dress.

What is included when a couple books your services for their wedding?

It depends on what they need from me. I do everything from planning and coordinating, dressing the couple, finding vendors and hair services if required.

For full-service Wedding Planning, I offer unlimited phone and email consultations and a minimum of 10 hrs in person. If a bride has hired me just to find her a dress, I will do what it takes to find her the dress.

I will always tailor the package to the specific needs of the couple; I want everything about their wedding day to be better than what they imagined.

How do you help couples customize their wedding?

Once I understand their vision, I become the curator of their wedding day. I will take all of the ideas a couple might have and edit them into an event like no other. Most people have never planned a wedding and don’t know where to start, whereas, I have experience planning many, an eye for detail and long list of contacts that specialize in creating anything a bride or groom might wish for.

What is one interesting fact about your services?

One interesting fact about my services is that I styled brides on a national scale.  As a Fashion Director on season two of W Network’s Say Yes to the Dress Canada, you can pull up past episodes and see me at work.  So I have a great knowledge of trends and have worked with every type of bride.

What do you have planned for the future?

I have many weddings in my future! I would love to style brides internationally but we will have to wait and see.

How many people can you accommodate? (i.e bridal party makeup)

As a hairstylist I can accommodate almost any number.  I have a second stylist that works with me and we work very well together.

What makes your services unique?

There are not a lot of people that have the hands-on experience that I do in so many aspects of a wedding. I understand the hairstyles, fashion, design and the logistics that need to all come together for a flawless event.

How long has this business been a part of the community?

I have been in the hair industry for over 15 years and weddings for 4 years.

Who would be the best person to contact if a couple wants to book your services?

Behind the lens while capturing a Wedding

Behind The Scenes of Wedding Photography

Call me narcissistic but sometimes I do like talking just a little about myself. Today happens to be one of those days.

Most photographers never get a lot of face time in front of the camera. They are usually confined to the space behind the lens. Creating art pieces and capturing memories for their beloved clients. It appears this is not the case for me.

I was cruising through some of the mountainous catalogs of wedding photos from 2015 (above 30,000 photos holy moly!). I found some veryyy intersting photos of myself. They were mostly photos of my face in concentration as I took the shot or of me posing in weird ways to get the correct angle. I thought why not share these treasure troves with the rest of the world?

Have you ever wondered what you look like taking a photo with a DSLR? Well probably something like this:

This photo was taken by Jeremy Martel at the Fairmont MacDonal Hotel, Edmonton, Alberta during Zubair & Amara’s Wedding.

At other times when you are bending in weird poses to get the shot:

This was an emotional moment when I shared Mark & Shamalla’s wedding reception slideshow with them. Following the slideshow, Shamalla started crying (happy tears!!) and hugged me (love it when I get hugs from my clients!). Thanks for the shot Jeremy!

So this is what I am up to on most of my Saturdays..

What about you? How do you look when photographing something? If you want we can totally go for coffee and a photo walk where I take photos of you while you take photos! I bet they would look awesome!

Give me a shout if you want to do that!!
