Their Story!

Samantha & Wyatt met on a running track! Being medical professionals and runners, they had a lot in common from the very beginning. Samantha and Wyatt also shared a running coach, who saw that they would make a great couple and got them in touch with each other. The rest, as they say, is history!

I photographed the couple’s engagement session at Peace Hills Park in Wetaskiwin, Alberta, as this was where they had met for the first time.

Samantha is a super planner who likes planning things out in advance, whereas Wyatt enjoys spontaneous happenings. These two lovebirds were travelling to France for a trip. Samantha anticipated that the proposal was going to happen in Paris since her mother had tipped her off (romantic, right?!).

Well, it didn’t. Instead, Wyatt had a different idea. He planned the proposal so it would be a complete secret and come as a surprise. They were both visiting a castle when Wyatt went down on one knee and proposed. After the initial surprise, there was a resounding yes from her, followed by lots of tears and cheers from other tourists in the castle!

Peace Hills Park, Wetaskiwin, Alberta

The couple chose this location because of its emotional significance to them. They had originally met in the park and had taken many a run together through the park as well. This meant they were able to show me some of the cooler hidden spots within Peace Hills Park, which made for some excellent shots during their engagement session.

The park is located near Montgomery Glen Golf Course in Wetaskiwin and is a favourite spot for locals, with its numerous trails and scenic rest spots. We did the engagement session in late September, which meant we were there for the perfect fall colours.

The yellows and greens combined with the warm autumn sunlight made a gorgeous natural background for their engagement photos. The familiar setting also helped make the session feel personal and connected to their story.

I am so fortunate to have had the opportunity to photograph Samantha & Wyatt’s engagement photos, and we are really looking forward to joining them on their wedding day.

Beautiful dog? Beautiful fall colors? Time to update those family portraits!

Their Family | Schulz Family Session in Edmonton, Alberta

I don’t often get to photograph fellow photographers but when I do, they look like this:

Well technically that is my fellow photographer Amanda & her beautiful dog Daisy! They are so cutteeee <3. Fall colors, a dog that looks like a fox and beautiful clients, what more could I have asked for? That is why we decided  to do Amanda & Chris’s family session at Terwillegar Dog Park in Edmonton. It gave us the opportunity to walk around the beautiful yellow, green and golden trails while enjoying the chilly yet crisp autumn weather.

Amanda asked me to photograph her family and I was so totally on board because I knew they will be amazing to photograph! We create some family portraits that you can see below. There is also a neat slideshow at the bottom if you want to see more photos from the session 😀

As you can see Chris, Amanda & Daisy were having quite the day at the park. The fall colors looked absolutely gorgeous and so did the family!

Amanda loves Daisy and given that daisy was ok with being kissed, I am going to go on a limb and say Daisy enjoyed the kisses equally as much 😛

This is by far one of the best photos I have ever taken. I don’t think I need to explain why.

This photo where Chris is high fiving Daisy was Amanda’s favorite photo as this is the normal routine for Chris and Daisy in the morning. The fact that I was able to capture this moment just makes me so happy 🙂
