THEIR STORY

It is in the most unexpected moments we find our perfect person. Damaris and Jeremy met in their workplace. Jeremy gave Damaris a tour and found a connection! Their first date was coffee and board games which led us here, to their wedding. The wedding originally had to take place in a vineyard but they are on the front lines in the pandemic as healthcare workers, and choose a small ceremony in Edmonton.

 

DAMARIS GETTING READY AT THE WESTIN EDMONTON

I enjoyed taking photos of Damaris getting ready for her big day. She did her own makeup and chose a stunning dress for the ceremony. It was a small ceremony but the couple pulled off a regal look that is bound to be on everybody’s list!
Damaris looked like a princess and the dress paired very well with the venue and theme.

 

CEREMONY AT THE FAIRMONT HOTEL MACDONALD

Due to the pandemic, the couple decided on a small ceremony and the guests attended wearing masks. The ceremony was led by John Son. It took place on the beautiful patio of Fairmont Hotel, overlooking the Edmonton skyline. Damaris teared up during the vows and the guests followed! Despite a rain forecast we were lucky to witness a beautiful day. The couple sang a heartfelt prayer together for their perfect beginning. 

 

CREATIVE FORMALS AT THE FAIRMONT MACDONALD PATIO

The location is perfect for a summer wedding, and luckily the weather stayed perfect all day! The formals looked stunning both indoors and outdoors. The couple enjoys piano and them playing together is one of the cutest photos of the shoot! Coupled with how absolutely in love they are, the pictures turned out regal.  My favourite photo is of Damaris standing at the gates of the venue looking absolutely picturesque in white. 

 

FAMILY PHOTOS AT THE FAIRMONT MACDONALD 

We took photos of Damaris and her mom sharing an emotional moment. I am so glad to be part of their special day and to capture the shared happiness. The families of the bride and groom looked just as stunning!

As a photographer, I often run into the coolest and most enterprising people in my line of work. One of them is Miranda, she started her business last year: Meraki Medical Aesthetics. Her business focuses on “helping others realize their beauty  – inside and out” according to Miranda’s words. And her client testimonials agree!

How and when did you get started?

Our owner, Miranda Woloschuk, started her career in the beauty industry at the young age of 13 years old working as an esthetician in her small home town in Saskatchewan. She fell in love with the industry and decided to further her career into medical aesthetics and laser in 2013. Fast forward to 2019, the desire and passion to open her own business grew and flourished as she continued to work as a laser technician under a local physician. In May of 2019, the journey began and after a lot of perseverance and dedication, we opened our doors on September 16, 2019.

Tell us about your team if you have multiple team members. If not, tell us about yourself!

Miranda’s passion for her work and her dedication to her clients is indisputable. She shows her desire, drive and determination in everything she does. The beauty industry and helping others realize their beauty – inside and out is where she feels most at home and she could not imagine doing anything else. Opening Meraki has been a long-term dream for her. Miranda has poured everything she has into her business – her soul, love and creativity. Her wish is to shine some light into each of her clients’ lives and improve their self-confidence.

What is included when a bride books your service?

All of our treatments include free consultations, follow-ups and post-treatment kits. We also create custom packages that can be individualized to each client. 

How do you help the bride (and her bridesmaids) find the perfect combination of skincare?

As we mainly focus on the skin for our brides and bridesmaids, each client has an in-depth skin consultation where we discuss what the client would like to obtain as a final result. From there, we create a customized treatment plan to meet their needs.

What have you got planned for the future?

Meraki Medical Aesthetics will continue to grow and stay up-to-date with all of the newest innovations in the medical aesthetics industry. Our goal is to provide our clients with the best of the best when it comes to treatments, products and most importantly our customer service. With over a decade of experience and commitment, you can be reassured you are receiving superior service. Above is the beautiful Wedding Slideshow that came with Veronica & Daniel’s wedding. It was created from a selection of photos that tell the story of the couple’s wedding day.

CREATIVE FORMALS AT THE TAVERN & LOUISE MCKINNEY RIVERFRONT PARK

Our day began at the Tavern, a cool rustic location the couple chose. Daniel stood waiting for bride with his back turned. Veronica walked up to him and put her hand on his shoulder. Called the first look, this little tradition was so adorable.
We also took some great shots at another beautiful location, the Louise Mckinney Riverfront Park. Even by the River Valley, the couple’s love brought out all the warmth in the pictures!

THEIR CEREMONY AT THE THE COUNTRY LODGE

For a couple this cool, what is more, suitable than a cabin with gorgeous grounds?
The ceremony took place in The Country Lodge. Charming and quaint, it was the perfect little venue for a cute wedding. Veronica and Daniel did things unconventionally. Daniel stood waiting for bride at the altar with his back turned. Veronica walked up to him and put her hand on his shoulder. Called the first look, this little tradition was so adorable. The whole ceremony was full of these sweet moments between the two and we couldn’t get enough of it!

 

THE RECEPTION AT THE COUNTRY LODGE

After the ceremony, we were able to get some pictures of the adorable couple and their family. The first dance was a showstopper! The guest swooned and all lights were on the couple. We were able to get some really fun shots of people dancing, the meaningful looks between the couple and all the love in the room!
