Nerdy Love is Cool! Wedding at Devonian Botanic Gardens
Justin & Mona Wu’s Wedding at Devonian Botanic Gardens was a call and nerdy affair. This couple is one of the coolest I have had a chance to photograph. Read more to find out why! (PS They own beautiful birds that fly around their house and they are obsessed with books and comic cons!). Their ceremony was held at the Edmonton Chinese Alliance Church followed by photographs at the Devonian Botanic Gardens. Finally their very cool reception was held at the Double Tree Hotel in Edmonton.
Wu’s Same Day Slideshow
The Reception slideshow above is included in everyone one of our wedding collections and is very well loved by both family and friends. It is composed of a selection of photos from the time the bride and groom are getting ready to the ceremony, family formals and creative formals. It is presented in a classic black and white video format that we show during the reception on a projector and a screen we bring along with us. We also upload the same slideshow the very next day to our blog for everyone to enjoy while we edit and prepare the wedding day images.

Guys Getting Ready at Edmonton Chinese Alliance Church
We first photographed the groom and the groomsmen as they got ready at the Western Alliance Church. They all looked extremely handsome in their tailored suits. They also played some board games before Justin’s singlehood was over.
Girls Getting Ready
We photographed Mona getting ready with her bridemaids. Mona looked beautiful in her custom wedding dress! She also had her pet birds congratulate her on her wedding day.
Ceremony at the Edmonton Chinese Alliance Church
Following the getting ready photos, we photographed the bride and groom during their beautiful ceremony. They included a very special segment (the Unity heart ceremony) which was a very cool take on the idea of unification of hearts.
Formal Photos at Devonian Botanic Gardens, Edmonton
This was one of the first weddings of this season where everything was either ahead of schedule or on time! This allowed us a lot of time for the couples bridal party photos and creative formals at the Devonian Botanic Gardens. We were able to create some amazing artwork for this couple there even though it was raining!
I absolutely loved working with Mona & Justin. They are an amazing couple and had an amazing wedding party that were so much fun to work with!
We were so fortunate to be a part Mona & Justin’s wedding. It was an absolute honor to be a part of their day!
