Karpan’s Wedding at Sherbrooke Community League, Edmonton

Kimberly & Marko’s Wedding at Sherbrooke Community League, Edmonton | Edmonton Wedding Photographers

A Flowery Wedding at Sherbrooke Community League Center, Edmonton, AB

Kimberly is an amazing florist who often works with us as a preferred vendor. She is able to create amazing floral designs for her clients. You can checkout her work HERE. When Kimberly contacted me to photograph her wedding, I was beyond excited! I could not wait to see the kind of flowers that would be used on a florists wedding. Well to say that I was impressed would be an understatement. Don’t believe me? Check out he slideshow above to see some of the amazing florals present at Kimberly & Marko’s wedding.

The Karpan’s Same Day Slideshow

The Reception slideshow above is included in everyone one of our wedding collections and is very well loved by both family and friends. It is composed of a selection of photos from the time the bride and groom are getting ready to the ceremony, family formals and creative formals. It is presented in a classic black and white video format that we show during the reception on a projector and  a screen we bring along with us. We also upload the same slideshow the very next day to our blog for everyone to enjoy while we edit and prepare the wedding day images.

Their story <3 – Engagement Session

I photographed Kimberly & Marko on Kimberly’s family farm for their engagement session a few weeks ago. You can read the story of this cute couple and see their engagement photo right here: Karpan’s Engagement Session

Groom Getting Ready:

We photographed the groom getting ready with his amazing groomsmen. They all Croatian socks and shared a serbian drink (except the underage one of course! :P).

Bride Getting Ready:

Following the groom, we photographed the bride getting ready. She told us this amazing story about the green toy car you see above. She told us that it was a toy car that her grandpa gave to her when she was a child. It was an emotional story and I could not help but photograph such an important part of the bride’s story! Both the bride and groom’s family were very love and family value oriented!

Ceremony at Sherbrook Community League, Edmonton

Among other understatements, here is one: the ceremony was emotional! There were tears of joy! Both from the bride and groom and their respective families. Marko was crying when Kimberly walked in and it was the cutest thing I have seen at a wedding. Kimberly on the other hand was crying during ceremony. One of the younger groomsmen actually sang a song for the bride and groom and it was heartwrenchingly emotional. He was crying while singing it and I couldn’t help but wipe a tear or two as well! This was an amazing privelege to photograph!

Family Photos:

Following the ceremony, we photographed the couple with their family. Mark, the EPS office photographed above was unable to take a day off for his sister in law’s wedding. Therefore, he came out during his shift briefly to be a part of his family’s big day! Thus we got a cool shot of the bride and groom with the police cruiser :D!

Creative Formals at the Muttart Conservatory:

I pride myself in my ability to create artwork for couple I photograph. This is what I have tried to achieve with the above shown photographs! It was perfect weather and lighting conditions at Muttart Conservatory, Edmonton for these photographs!

We were so fortunate to be a part Kimberly & Marko’s wedding. It was an absolute honor to be a part of their day!

Best Buds – Amazing Florist in Edmonton

Best Buds Flowers Shop

Best Buds – Amazing Florist in Edmonton

As part of our commitment to our clients, and to offer the best wedding planning experience, we work with a variety of exquisite vendors. These wedding experts that we feature on our blog are our favorites and we believe they can perfectly translate your wedding dreams into reality.

A favorite florist of ours is Best Buds Flower shop on Oliver Square in Edmonton. We had a wonderful and fun meeting with the flower designers at the shop to provide you with an idea of why Best Buds would be a great fit for your wedding day.

Here are some questions that I asked the owner of the shop Kimberly Wagil regarding weddings and her answers to those questions:

How did you get started?

My sister had a job at a flower shop and asked me to help out one Valentine’s Day….and the rest is history as the flower shop pulled me in! Thirteen years and counting, and I am still loving it!

Tell me about your favorite wedding last season.

There are so many weddings that we get to be a part of, but being able to design flowers for a staff member is always an honor. We did Codi & Kevin’s wedding last May and the colors were purple and green. She basically let me do my magic and bring her flowers to life in her “Where City Meets Country” theme. We made her a special cowboy boot and cowboy hat filled with flowers for her Guest Book Table and it was a lovely addition to her special day.

How far out should a bride pay a deposit to secure your flowers for her wedding day?

While we do not have a strict guideline for dates, we recommend coming for a consultation 5-7 months before the wedding. Because the number of weddings we can take on in a single weekend can add up quickly, we recommend paying the deposit and “locking in” your wedding date with us at least 6 weeks in advance; this will also better guarantee that we can bring in any special request flowers in time. Of course, we will do our best to help even on short notice.

What is included when a couple books you for their wedding?

An in-person consultation with one of our wedding designers is included and encouraged, and we offer delivery and set-up services as well as our custom floral designs.

How do you help couples customize their wedding?

We like to see photos of the wedding gown and bridesmaids’ dresses, as well as colour swatches or palettes for the event. We take into account the size of the wedding party, style of the dresses and suits/tuxedos, theme and ambiance, seasonal weather and availability of certain flowers, as well as the wedding budget. Every wedding is an important personal event for the happy couple, and we believe every last detail should reflect their passions and personalities.

What is one interesting fact about your shop?

We always have a jar of fresh homemade cookies on the counter for our guests to enjoy. Every person in the store is a guest here, not just a customer, and we like to make people feel welcome.

What do you have planned for the future?

We have plans to continue to grow our Wedding Services. We would love to be able to deliver and set up for most of our clients. The idea of having the Happy Couple have a stress free day is what it is all about for us. We do understand that some couples want a different level of involvement, and we are here to serve!

How many guests can you accommodate?

We are able to accommodate a wedding of any size, however, we do only accept a certain amount of work per weekend. We have had weekends where we can only do 1 wedding due to the size and other weekends where you have 8 small weddings. We love to do all styles of weddings and venues. We have done outdoor weddings, out of town weddings and in town back yard ceremonies that we were a part of.

What makes your business unique?

We specialize in fresh flowers and custom designs, and so we don’t have potted plants and only carry a limited amount of gift items. We believe focusing on the flowers helps us provide the best possible service to our clients.

How long has this business been a part of the community?

As Best Buds, the shop has been here for 12 years.
