Behind The Scenes of Wedding Photography

Call me narcissistic but sometimes I do like talking just a little about myself. Today happens to be one of those days.

Most photographers never get a lot of face time in front of the camera. They are usually confined to the space behind the lens. Creating art pieces and capturing memories for their beloved clients. It appears this is not the case for me.

I was cruising through some of the mountainous catalogs of wedding photos from 2015 (above 30,000 photos holy moly!). I found some veryyy intersting photos of myself. They were mostly photos of my face in concentration as I took the shot or of me posing in weird ways to get the correct angle. I thought why not share these treasure troves with the rest of the world?

Have you ever wondered what you look like taking a photo with a DSLR? Well probably something like this:

This photo was taken by Jeremy Martel at the Fairmont MacDonal Hotel, Edmonton, Alberta during Zubair & Amara’s Wedding.

At other times when you are bending in weird poses to get the shot:

This shot was also taken by my second photographer Jeremy Martel as I leaned on the step of the Legislature Building in Edmonton, Alberta to get “the shot”.

Here are a couple of other cool ones! BTS-Sharyar-Box-Cube-Photography-4538 BTS-Sharyar-Box-Cube-Photography-6833 BTS-Sharyar-Box-Cube-Photography-5164

This is one of my absolute favorites:

This was an emotional moment when I shared Mark & Shamalla’s wedding reception slideshow with them. Following the slideshow, Shamalla started crying (happy tears!!) and hugged me (love it when I get hugs from my clients!). Thanks for the shot Jeremy!

So this is what I am up to on most of my Saturdays..

What about you? How do you look when photographing something? If you want we can totally go for coffee and a photo walk where I take photos of you while you take photos! I bet they would look awesome!

Give me a shout if you want to do that!!
