Their Story:
The best part about my job is hearing the love stories that my clients have to tell me! All of them represent love in its purest form yet they are so unique in themselves. I heard Nicolle & Stephen’s Love story while I photographed them for their engagement session. All of my wedding collections come with a complementary engagement session (+hair and makeup!) so that you feel comfortable in front of a camera (or cameras!) on your wedding day. This also allows me to create an album for you from your engagement images that can be used as a signing book! This is exactly what we did for the Doyles! Their Country Lodge wedding was absolutely incredible to photograph! You can check out their engagement session at the link below:
A vintage and rustic wedding!
Nicolle & Stephen really liked the idea of a rustic and vintage wedding with a splash of color. They were able to achieve that aesthetic by combining a beautiful white wedding dress for Nicolle with a blue Tux for Stephen! It looked really cool together especially combined with the fall/summer colors prevalent in Edmonton at that time!
First Look at Edmonton Street Car Barn
As far as unconventional weddings go, this has so far taken the cake! Nicolle & Stephen asked me to setup a first look for them where they got to see each other for the first time before the ceremony itself. If you are unsure about what a first look is, you can check this out our Cool Additions to Wedding post to read more about it!
The photos for the first look can be found below near the tail end of the post!
Formals at El Cortez Mexican Restaurant
Following the first look and some formal photos outside, we went to the local Mexican Restaurant called El-Cortez that has the most amazing basement! It had some really lighting as well a very well decorate yard that we took advantage of. The manager was so accommodating and allowed us to create some amazing artwork for the couple.
Ceremony at the Edmonton Street Car Barn
If you have every seen a cooler ceremony than this one, I will eat my own hat (see the HP reference there?). The ceremony was conducted in street car that was parking in the middle of a river on top of a bridge… How many times have you seen that happen? It was very intimate and filled with love and joy!
Reception at the Country Lodge // Polish Veteran’s Hall
Following the formal photos, we went to the Country Lodge which was setup with the same rustic theme. It looked absolutely splendid with small lights inside mason jars and dim moody lighting throughout the venue! We also setup a cool photo booth for the guests where they could try on vintage props.

I was absolutely thrilled to work with this couple and I am so excited to share their photos with them! Feel free to tag yourself or share this post with friends and family!
